What is the Spinternet Dashboard?

The Spinternet Dashboard displays a 30 day snapshot of select statistics for your website provided by Google Analytics. Take a look at the sample below, and follow along as we explain in a bit more detail.

Dashboard

Visitors - How many visitors are coming to your site?

A line graph represents the number of visitors to your site on a day to day basis during the 30 day window:

  • Total Visits - total number of site visits from all visitors (sometimes counted more than once)
  • Unique Visits - number of site visits from a single, unique visitor (as compared to a user who might visit your site five times in five hours)
  • Returning Visits - number of visits from a visitor who has been to your website in the past

*Visits represent the number of individual sessions initiated by all the visitors to your site.

Traffic Types - Where is your traffic coming from?

A pie graph represents the incoming traffic types based on percentage:

  • Direct - traffic that came directly to your site (i.e. manually typed in your web address, had your site bookmarked)
  • Organic - traffic that came from a search engine (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Bing)
  • Referral - traffic that came from a link on a 3rd party website, but not a search engine (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, banner ad on news website)

Top Ten Keywords - What do people search for to find your site?

The table represents the top ten keywords that provided traffic to your site from search engines (organic traffic). These are keywords that users searched for, and thereafter clicked on a link that pointed to your site.

Top Ten Pages - What are your popular pages?

The table represents the top ten pages on your site based on pageviews. The page title and page url can be used to identify the pages referenced.

*A pageview is an instance of a page being loaded by a browser. The Pageviews metric is the total number of pages viewed; repeated views of a single page are also counted.

While the streamlined look and feel is meant for easy, at-a-glance browsing, to get the full picture login to your Google Analytics account.
