Community Involvement

It's amazing what a few people working towards a common goal can accomplish.

Making a difference in our local community.

We believe “get better every day” pertains to more than just work and learning. We are only as strong as those who support us—that means not just our team members, but our communities too. Through volunteer hours and involvement with boards and community organizations, we serve the causes that are near and dear to our hearts and that benefit the greater community.

Community Involvement

Professionals at Spinutech regularly volunteer their time to engage young professionals from the surrounding communities, providing more than just summer internships. Marc Reifenrath, our company president, is a regular guest speaker for the UNIBusiness Professional Readiness Program, which gives marketing students the opportunity to learn soft business skills and gain real world experience. In addition to serving students at the University of Northern Iowa, the Spinutech team also participates in advisory activities at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. Making ourselves available to guide and assist students gives our team the opportunity to share our knowledge and work experiences with up-and-coming business professionals.

Toy Drive

Marc as Elf

We have partnered with the Salvation Army’s Toy Drive program collecting new, unwrapped toys for kids 0-18 for more than ten years. The more people who get involved, the more kids we get to help, so in addition to collecting donations at our Des Moines and Cedar Falls offices, we also distribute boxes and collect toys at about two dozen local business locations around the city. In 2016 we were able to collect more than 850 toy donations for deserving families.

Ed Thomas Foundation

Marc

Coach Ed Thomas was one of the most decorated high school football coaches in the state of Iowa before his passing. He had a profound impact on his community in Parkersburg, Iowa, where one of our founders is from. In fact, our president sits on the board of the foundation, which provides resources for sports and faith-based organizations. The foundation also provides a one day leadership academy twice a year. The annual events empowers students to be proactive members of their community and to influence change at school.

Going Green

Did you know that more than 80% of Spinutech’s clients receive reporting and invoices electronically? As a digital agency, we’re big on keeping things digital, so we’ve committed to going as paperless as possible. All of our offices recycle, and in Cedar Falls volunteers bring paper to the recycling center to be properly reused. There’s no corporate contract — just thoughtful team members who care about the planet.

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

Habitat

We want our team members to be able to give back to the community. That’s why we offer each team member 8 hours of paid volunteer time off every year, and we’re so glad they use it! In 2018 the team members of Spinutech completed over 500 hours of volunteer work, partnering with Habitat for Humanity, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Aspire Therapeutic Riding Program. Other opportunities include volunteering at sporting events like the Drake Relays, for charitable causes like the Animal Rescue League, or simply making our community better by cleaning up city parks and around our offices for Earth Day.
